Every daughter is born with a very special love for her earthly father. This special love that our Father God created His daughters to have fulfils a deep desire within His own heart, which is to reveal the precious beauty of a father-daughter relationship. There are many needs that only a father can fulfil in his daughter’s life.
Woman was made by God to be man’s helper, counterpart, or his other half. To be man’s counterpart is to be the one at his side. In the eyes of God, woman was never created to be beneath or inferior to man. Dominion over everything that creeps on the earth was given to both the man and the woman (Gen. 1:27–28).
Dear family of God, what does God the Father feel about women? Does He feel that they should be quiet because it is a shame for them to speak in church? Does He want all women to cover their heads because they are under the authority, power, and rule of man?
Is there any place in the Bible where we are told what a woman is to be in the eyes of God?
Yes, there certainly is a place in the Scriptures that reveals God’s heart regarding all women! It is found in Proverbs 31:10–31. Almost all of chapter 31 is written just to reveal to us what a woman who pleases God is like.
In the opening verse, we read that the words King Lemuel was taught were his mother’s instructions. “The words of King Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.” The excellent woman described in these verses that is worthy of a king is worth far more than the most precious gems and rubies in the world. “Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies” (Prov. 31:10).
It is very interesting that the Hebrew word chayil (Strong’s number 2428) is translated as “virtuous.” The word chayil is used 223 times in the Bible. Some of the meanings of this word and the number of times they are used in their context are:
army (56 times),
man of valor (37 times),
host (29 times),
forces (14 times),
valiant (13 times),
strength (12 times),
riches (11 times),
wealth (10 times),
power (9 times),
substance (8 times),
might (6 times), and strong (5 times).
Whenever “Chayil” is used in the context of men, it is used in these various ways we’ve just listed. However, it is only translated as “virtuous” when it is referring to a woman. The difference is distinctly evident. Could this be a bias that has been placed upon the way men think that women should be, instead of the way God thinks they should live and be?
Now, let’s take a deeper look at Proverbs 31:10–31 in order to investigate what a pleasing woman and bride looks like, in the eyes of Father God.
Verse 10 – Her value is far above rubies. She is extremely valuable and worthy to any man.
Verse 11 – Her husband has great confidence in her and his life will only prosper due to her presence.
Verse 12 – She does her husband good all the days of her life. He is blessed because she is his wife.
Verse 13 – She is an active worker and she seeks the best gar-ments and what is pure and righteous.
Verse 14 – She has no lack of provision, as she carries a heavenly anointing of wisdom.
Verse 15 – She arises early and is not lazy but very diligent and she cares for all, even those not in her immediate family.
Verse 16 – She is an astute businesswoman with great wisdom, and therefore she is able to buy land and increases in profit more and more.
Verse 17 – She strengthens herself so she will not be a castaway (see 1 Cor. 9:27). She is ready for each new day.
Verse 18 – She is diligent and very discerning.
Verse 19 – She is skilled and highly educated. She is prosperous and she uses her prosperity to bless others.
Verse 20 – She is compassionate and takes care of the needy.
Verse 21 – She is forward-thinking, making sure that her household is prepared for any situation. She takes charge of the situation, instead of allowing the situation to take charge of her.
Verse 22 – She uses the best cloth to make lovely clothes; her standard is excellence.
Verse 23 – She makes her husband famous and important in the city. Her influence benefits her husband.
Verse 24 – She is fruitful, well-organized, and productive. Her life is profitable.
Verse 25 – She is a woman of honor. She excels others in achievements. She is strong when it is time for strength.
Verse 26 – Her tongue is not silent, for she has a lot of important things to declare. Her mouth is full of wisdom and kindness.
Verse 27 – She is a good homemaker and is not lazy but full of provision for her whole household.
Verse 28 – Her children esteem her and acknowledge that she is a blessed woman and her husband gives her due respect for her accomplishments.
Verse 29 – She exceeds as an overcomer and is an example of the end-time Bride on earth. And many daughters will obtain wealth because of her.
Verse 30 – She realizes that the outward is only temporal, but the inward attitude of love and fear toward God is of the utmost im-portance.
Verse 31 – She has achieved fame in the Kingdom.
This woman described in Proverbs 31 embodies all of those other meanings included in the Hebrew word chayil: able, army, capability, wealthy, excellence, full, great, might, power, riches, strength, strong, valor, very powerful, worthy, valiant.
One can see all of these attributes within this godly woman. This is the kind of woman that pleases God. We must remember that this kind of woman is under the Old Covenant.
The power, promises, and ability under the NEW Covenant are much better and much greater; therefore, a woman in Christ seen as a new creation with the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of her could radically and powerfully affect the world. Father God sees His daughters as very special and powerful in His Son.
God’s Redemptive Plan for Women
“An army of women who know their truest identities are rising up all over the world today. This was always God’s intention. He never wanted women to be oppressed after the fall of man. The enemy is terrified for women to take dominion. You carry so much authority and power—so much so that the end is coming for the serpent when the woman is restored back to her destiny.”3
Psalm 68 speaks of a powerful army; warring women of Zion who are left to gather spoils after “the conquering legions have themselves been conquered.” In this passage, women are being restored and stepping into holiness. Kings and armies are fleeing before these women who deliver the word of the gospel with power. When the Ekklesia was baptized as one body on the day of Pentecost by our Father in the Son through the Holy Spirit, several things happened to that living, vibrant group of believers called a new creation.
Number 1: A hundred and twenty continued together in one accord. “These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren” (Acts 1:14). This included the women.
“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance” (Acts 2:1–4).
Number 2: On the day of Pentecost, they were all together in one place; this included the women.
Number 3: Cloven tongues like as of fire sat upon each of them.
Number 4: The sound of heaven came with so much power that it was heard by thousands of people and it filled the entire place. The breath of God filled all of those gathered there, including all of the women.
Number 5: All were filled with the Holy Spirit. No one was excluded, and there were no dividing walls for any reason.
Number 6: They all began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance (men and women).
Number 7: Peter stood up and declared, very emphatically, that what was happening was the Promise from the Father spoken through the prophet Joel that, “It shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, And your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days my Spirit; and they shall prophesy” (Acts 2:17–18).
This prophecy could not be fulfilled until sons and daughters prophesy! The daughters were filled with the Holy Spirit. The daughters spoke in tongues. The daughters also prophesied.
Did the Father pour His Spirit on all of these dear, beloved daughters so they could speak on the day of Pentecost only?
And, did He afterwards command that they should be quiet and never use their spiritual gifts again within the Church? Most definitely, He did not, but instead, He declared in Acts 2:18, “On my handmaidens I will pour out my Spirit and they shall prophesy” (emphasis mine).
Who has the courage to command the precious, beloved daughters of the King to be quiet when the King has commanded them to speak?
This gift of prophecy—a powerful, anointed speaking forth of the things of the Kingdom—was a main tool in the Spirit’s hand to evangelize and plant many churches in the new missionary movement that was initiated on the day of Pentecost. The progress of the missionary movement was itself dependent, to a large extent, upon the conversion of influential women in strategic locations.
Truly, Father God’s plan for evangelism could not and would not be accomplished without the active participation of His precious handmaidens!
